My stubborn loyalty to a dying flip phone finally backfired
I carried a Motorola Razr from 2019 well into this spring, and I kept telling everyone it was fine because I only needed calls and texts. Then my bank updated their app and dropped support for my ancient OS, which meant I could not check my balance or transfer money at all. I stood in line at a downtown Chicago branch for 45 minutes just to move $60 between accounts, and the teller literally asked if I was cosplaying as a vintage gadget reviewer. I finally gave in and bought a $150 budget smartphone, and honestly the GPS alone made me regret waiting three years. But part of me still misses that dumb phone because it never buzzed with group chats or tracker ads. Has anyone else held onto outdated tech way past the breaking point, or am I the only one who treats a phone like a stubborn old dog?
