Paid $160 for a real leather belt and it outlasted 5 cheap ones

I used to buy $15 belts from the mall every few months, thought expensive ones were a scam. Then a coworker in Austin told me to get one from a local saddle shop, and after two years of daily wear it still looks new. Anyone else finally learn that buying the nicer thing once beats replacing the cheap thing forever?

Damn, TWO YEARS and still looks new? That's wild. I've had cheap belts start flaking and cracking within like 3 months of wearing them to work every day. The stitching on the ones from Target always comes undone too, so I'm constantly trying to glue it back together or just giving up and buying another. Plus the leather on the cheap ones always smells like chemicals, not actual leather. Sounds like that saddle shop hooked you up for real.

Yeah @jennifer833 you got me, I'm just too lazy to shop for belts more than once a decade.
