Question about the $80 rice cooker I bought in 2019 and used exactly once

Everyone swears a good rice cooker changes your life, but mine sat in the cabinet for 5 years because I actually like the slightly burnt crust at the bottom of a pot on the stove, so am I the only one who thinks the cheap way tastes better?
