Saw my neighbor's lawn go from brown to perfect in 3 months and it bugged me more than it should

He started using some expensive liquid fertilizer from a garden center and watered at 5 AM every day... now I'm wondering if my cheap granular stuff is the reason my yard still looks patchy. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize your whole routine might be the problem?

Oh man, I feel this way too much. I was so proud of my cheap granular spread until I saw the neighbor's grass looking like a golf course and realized I've been doing lawn care all wrong. Guess I'll just keep blaming my soil and pretending it's not my cheap routine.

Saw a lawn guy on YouTube say liquid feeds work faster than granular...

Yeah liquid stuff kicks in way faster because it hits the leaves directly, but you gotta stay on top of it every week or two. Granular is slower but feeds the roots deeper, so I mix both and just keep the liquid handy for a quick green-up before company comes.
