I told him I think people who chat up strangers in line are just wasting everyone's time, and he looked at me and said that was the saddest thing he'd heard all week. It was 2 months ago, he was stamping my renewal, and I still can't decide if he was right or just slow at his job. Is hating small talk a real bad take or do I just need to move out of Idaho?
