I visited a diner in Cleveland last month and realized the "worst" table in the corner, the one everyone avoids, is actually the best spot. The booth near the kitchen door gets you faster refills and the staff told me they save the fresh pie slices for people who sit there. Am I crazy for preferring the "bad" table on purpose, or has anyone else found a hidden win in an overlooked spot?

honestly this is just how the whole world works once you figure it out. everyone fights over what looks good on paper but the real wins are in the spots people write off without thinking. like parking far from the store entrance, you get a shorter walk back with your bags and no door dings. same with the back row at concerts, better sound and you can actually see the whole stage. the trick is just being willing to look past the obvious and ask what the actual trade off is. most folks never do that, they just follow the crowd and miss the pie. good on you for noticing, the corner booth is a pro move.

Shit, you nailed it. I do the same thing with parking, always out at the edge where nobody else is. Less stress, no dings, and honestly the walk is nothing. Same reason I grab the last table at a diner, the one near the kitchen door. Servers pass by constantly, so you get your coffee refilled without even asking, and no one's bumping your chair. Most people just see what's closest and grab it, never thinking about what happens after.
