Finally gave in and tried a digital scale for my bread dough
I fought using cups for years, but after three flat loaves in a row last week, I borrowed my neighbor's $15 scale. Weighing the flour and water took maybe 2 extra minutes and the crumb came out perfect. Anyone else hold out on metric measuring this long?

Laughing at myself because I used to eyeball everything and call it "artisan." Then I realized my "rustic" loaves were just excuses for flat rocks. Borrowed my sister's scale and measured out 500 grams of flour instead of my usual 4 cups, and suddenly my bread actually breathes. Still hate cleaning the thing, but I'll take a good crumb over my pride any day.
