That sourdough starter I ignored for 2 years finally paid off big time
I kept seeing posts about keeping a starter alive and thought it was a waste of flour, but after my bread flopped for the 5th time with store-bought yeast I gave it a real shot and my first loaf came out perfect. Has anyone else had their stubborn streak cost them months of good baking?

A buddy of mine let his starter dry into a rock for a year and still resurrected it into award winning baguettes.

People treat their sourdough starters like these sacred fragile things (mine has its own name, don't judge me), but really they're more like those friendships you ignore for a year and then pick up right where you left off. It's kind of funny how anything alive will surprise you with how much neglect it can actually handle.
