Pro tip: I was cutting butter into flour with my hands for 3 years until my aunt caught me
My aunt came over last Saturday to help me make biscuits and watched me rub cold butter into the flour with my bare hands for like 10 minutes while it turned into a greasy paste. She grabbed a cheese grater out of my drawer, froze a stick of butter, and grated it straight into the bowl in about 20 seconds. I swear the biscuits came out with actual flaky layers instead of hockey pucks for the first time ever. She just laughed and asked why I never looked up a recipe video. Has anyone else been doing a baking step the hard way and only realized it when someone watched them?
My mom watched me struggle with a manual can opener for years, the kind you have to crank around the whole can. Turns out there's a little hole on the side you're supposed to hook onto the rim first so it doesn't slip. She showed me in like 5 seconds and I felt so dumb. All those years of wrestling with cans of tuna and I just thought can openers were supposed to be terrible.
