Oh boy, that reminds me of the time I left my dough on top of the radiator by accident. Came back an hour later and it had overflowed the bowl and was creeping down the side like something out of a horror movie. Learned my lesson about too much heat real quick.

My grandma's old fridge was so warm on top, it was basically its own proofing drawer. I think there's a whole hidden world of warm spots in every kitchen that nobody talks about. Like how the corner next to the stove gets way hotter than you'd expect, or that one spot on the counter near the toaster. Once you start noticing, you realize most of our appliances are secretly doing double duty as heat sources.

My old apartment had this weird hot spot right above the dishwasher, no matter what cycle it was on. I used to leave my bread dough there wrapped in a towel and it would double in size in like 45 minutes flat. But here's the thing, I accidentally left a stick of butter on that exact spot once and it melted completely through the wrapper and dripped down the front of the machine. Whole kitchen smelled like burnt butter for days. Now I'm paranoid about every single warm surface in my house. I swear my microwave has its own little climate zone around it too.
