Swapped from weight measurements to volume for bread flour 6 months ago

Used to weigh every gram precisely until I watched my grandma just scoop and level at a family bake-off last November, now my loaves come out way softer - anyone else switch methods based on someone older showing you?

Hard disagree. Weighing gives you consistent results every single time. That one time grandma nailed it doesn't mean scooping won't mess up your next ten loaves.

Wait till you try scooping with a used coffee cup like I did last Tuesday, totally forgot the measuring cups were dirty and my bread still came out fine lol. I swear the chaos method adds character.

My grandma has been baking for 50 years and never touched a scale in her life. I started scooping and leveling after I saw her make biscuits last Christmas and they came out perfect every time. Now my sandwich bread is way lighter and fluffier than when I was weighing everything to the gram. I think the scoop method traps more air in the flour which helps the rise. Do you sift yours too or just scoop straight from the bag?
