The alarm on my oven has been lying to me for 8 months
I kept pulling out pale, doughy loaves right when the timer sang, and I figured my oven just ran cool until a cake recipe from my neighbor's old church cookbook took 25 extra minutes to set. Turns out I never actually pressed the bake button, just the timer, so the oven was preheating to nothing for half a year. How many of us are out here trusting a blinking display over our own eyes?
