Thought those sourdough starter tips were overhyped, but I was way off

For months I kept seeing people say you gotta feed your starter at the same time every day or it'll die. I thought nah, that's just internet drama, a little flexibility won't matter. Well after my starter went flat and moldy twice in a row last winter, I finally set a daily alarm and stuck to it. Now I get a solid rise every time. Has anyone else found one specific rule that actually makes or breaks your bake?

Feeding at the same time totally fixed my starter too, huh.

Tbh I was the same way. I thought the timing thing was just people being extra, you know? But after losing a couple starters myself I caved and tried it. Now I'm with @cora518 on this, feeding at the same time really does make a difference. It's like the starter gets used to the schedule and just works better. Ngl I was real stubborn about it for way too long.
