Found a way to avoid atm fees by hitting three banks in a 10 minute walk
So I live in Portland and there are like 5 different banks within walking distance of my apartment. I was getting sick of paying $3-$4 every time I needed cash from a random ATM. Last month I actually mapped out which banks were close and made a simple route. Chase, Wells Fargo, and US Bank are all on the same street about 3 blocks apart. Now I just pick the bank where I have an account and walk over. But here's the trick - I also use cash back at grocery stores when I buy stuff I need anyway. Has anyone else figured out a pattern like this in their neighborhood to avoid those dumb fees?

Bold of you to assume I've got my life together enough to pre-plan a bank route lmao. I'm usually just wandering around hoping I'll randomly remember where an ATM is.

Heard someone say ATMs are basically just "adult treasure hunts" and honestly that's been my experience too.
