Just realized mobile check deposit was worth trusting after all

Back in 2017 I was SO skeptical about depositing checks through my banking app. I kept driving 15 minutes to the nearest branch because I thought the app would glitch or the check would get lost. Then last year during a snowstorm in Chicago, my landlord's office was closed and I had a rent check due in 3 days. I snapped a photo through my Capital One app at 11pm and the money showed up next morning. Now I honestly can't remember the last time I stepped foot inside a bank. Did anyone else hold out this long on adopting mobile deposit?

Man, I was right there with you! I remember thinking mobile deposit seemed like magic (but the bad kind where your money disappears into the void). It took a late fee on my electric bill for me to finally give it a shot back in 2019, and I felt so stupid for all those wasted trips to the drive-through. The thing that still freaks me out though is the photo quality - do you ever snap a pic and then hold your breath while it processes, wondering if the lighting is good enough? Like, I've literally moved lamps around my kitchen table just to avoid those pesky glare spots on the check.

@wyatt_mitchell26 Wait, weren't mobile deposits around way before 2019 tho?
