PSA: I just hit 1000 contactless payments on my card this year
I checked my banking app's spending report and saw the counter... it blew my mind. I knew I used my card a lot for coffee and stuff, but I didn't think it was that many times. It really shows how fast tap-to-pay has become my main way to buy things. Has anyone else seen a number like that and been surprised?

Look at my own report and it's the opposite. Most of my taps are for groceries and gas, stuff over fifty bucks. The small stuff adds up, sure, but for me it's the big weekly trips that really drive the count up.

A thousand taps is wild. What's the average amount per transaction on your report? I bet most of those are under five bucks for coffee or a snack. Makes you realize how much those small buys add up.

Actually, the report shows my average is around twelve bucks. So it's not just coffee, it's a bunch of quick lunches too.

Can we even call it a tap anymore when my card just lives at the coffee shop? My report is basically a diary of "I didn't pack a lunch" and "the kids need one more snack." It's a miracle my card's magnetic strip hasn't worn out.
