Rant: I paid my $18 electric bill by phone in 4 minutes and then spent 25 fighting the website
Called the 800 number at 9pm, punched in 6 digits, heard "payment accepted," and hung up in under 5 minutes, while the online portal locked me out twice over a forgotten password and asked me to verify a code sent to a phone I haven't had since 2021, so is this just me or does every bank make the phone line the only thing that actually works?
Went through the same crap with my gas company last month. The automated line took my card number and was done before I could even open my laptop. Turns out you can set up a recurring payment over the phone that skips the login mess completely, and they mail you a paper confirm each month so you know it went through. Might be worth asking their billing rep about it next time you call.
