Two weeks to fix a QR code glitch at our small credit union

We rolled out QR payments for our members in February and the codes kept failing on Android phones after the first scan. I spent 12 business days going back and forth with our vendor, testing on my own device, and checking our merchant config. Turned out one character in the QR payload was being encoded wrong, a semicolon instead of a colon. Has anyone else had a similar payout or token issue that took forever to trace to something that small?
