My $6 dollar store spray bottle fixed my brisket bark disaster
I couldn't get a decent bark to save my life until I tried spritzing with a mix of apple juice and pickle juice instead of plain water. The vinegar tang actually helped the rub stick and darken up perfectly on my last cook. Anybody else use weird liquids in their spray bottle?

Oh man, thats actually genius with the pickle juice! I swear I read somewhere that the acidity helps break down the surface so the smoke sticks better. I've been using plain apple cider vinegar in my spray, but now I'm curious about mixing it with something else. My buddy swears by using leftover beer, said it gives the bark a deeper color and a little sweetness from the hops. Might have to try that pickle thing next weekend, my last brisket was a little pale on the edges and it drove me nuts.

Right? That pickle juice trick totally fixed my pale bark problem too.

Beer and pickle juice together sounds wild. Gotta try that.
