Visited Franklin Barbecue in Austin and saw something that bugged me

I finally got to try the famous brisket at Franklin, and while it was good, the line culture felt off. People were paying others to hold their spot for hours, which just seems to go against the whole point of a community pitmaster experience. It made the wait less about shared excitement and more about who could afford to skip it. Has anyone else been to a top spot that felt like it lost some of its soul due to stuff like this?

Yeah, that would totally kill the vibe for me too. Paying to skip the line feels like it misses the whole point, right?

Read an article about theme parks doing this. They charge extra for fast passes. Makes the regular line move slower. People who can't pay just stand there forever. Kinda ruins the fun for everyone else.

Right? It's like they're making the normal line worse on purpose. I waited over an hour for a ride while the fast pass lane was empty half the time. Just feels like a cash grab that wrecks the day for most people.

Wait over an hour while the fast lane is empty? That's just cruel.
