Finally got my secondhand 3D printer to stop warping prints after six weeks of fighting it

Turns out I was running the bed too cold at 50C, bumped it to 65C for PLA and the corners stayed flat for the first time ever. Has anyone else found a weird simple fix after chasing a problem for too long?

I saw a video the other day where someone was saying that temp can cause zit-like artifacts way more than retraction settings. Idk if I totally buy that but it got me curious. I've been messing with my own retraction for weeks and getting nowhere with PLA. Then I bumped my temp from 200 to 205 and suddenly my prints started looking way cleaner. Maybe it's just me but I think people sometimes overlook heat creep or inconsistent extrusion from too low a temp. The number 68C seems really specific for a filament type, wonder if that's a certain brand or something.
