I finally understand why people pay $6 for fancy salt
My sister brought me back some gray salt from Brittany a few years back. I laughed and put it in the cabinet next to the Morton's. Then one night I was cooking a steak, nothing special just a cast iron pan from Target, and I figured what the heck. Sprinkled some on one bite and regular salt on the next. The difference was stupid. It wasn't just saltier, it had this crunch and this... mineral taste? Hard to describe. Now I keep a little bowl of the stuff on my counter and use it for finishing everything. Has anyone else had a food snob thing they rolled their eyes at until they actually tried it?

Is that the gray salt from France? My buddy brought some back from a trip and I thought he was nuts for paying that much. Tried it on a baked potato one time and man, I get it now. That crunch really does something different.
