I spent $300 on a digital photo scanner and it saved my family's history
For years, I kept putting off dealing with my mom's old photo albums. They were just sitting in a damp basement, and I was scared they'd get ruined. I finally bit the bullet and bought a mid-range scanner for about $300. It took me three solid weekends, but I scanned over 2,000 pictures, from my parents' wedding to my own baby photos. The real moment that hit me was finding a picture of my grandpa holding me as a newborn, a picture I'd never seen before. He passed when I was little, so having that digital copy feels like I got a piece of him back. Now I have everything backed up on a cloud drive and a hard drive, and I made digital albums for my whole family. It was a lot of work, but seeing those memories safe is worth every penny. Has anyone else done a big photo digitizing project and found something amazing they forgot about?

That scanner sounds like it was totally worth the effort.

Yeah it's crazy how these projects seem pointless until they actually work lol. My buddy built one and it saved his whole weekend.

Honestly I thought it was a waste of time at first but it totally proved me wrong.

Three weeks later I was still glad I didn't give up on it...
