Just realized that $60 garage sale tool saved me $1,200

Honestly, I thought I was wasting money when I bought a used pipe threading set for $60 at a garage sale last spring. My buddy laughed and said I’d never use it. Fast forward to last month, a pipe burst under my kitchen sink on a Saturday. A plumber quote came in at $1,200 for the fix. I grabbed that old set, watched a YouTube video, and threaded the new pipe myself in 3 hours. Has anyone else had a random bargain tool save them a ton of cash?

Jumping in because YES, this is so true. I spent like $200 on a weekend workshop a few years back (felt like a lot at the time) and it completely changed how I handle my side hustle. Meanwhile, I've got friends who drop twice that on fancy gear they barely use. The cheap classes or good books, they actually stick with you way longer than any shiny gadget. I still pull out stuff I learned in that workshop regular as anything. Funny how we think we need the expensive stuff first, when really it's the time we put in that does the heavy lifting.
