PSA: My mom's trick for finding lost stuff actually works, and I finally tried it 3 weeks ago
I lost my truck keys at my buddy's place in Mesa and tore apart the couch, the laundry, and even the yard for an hour with no luck. My mom always said to stop hunting and start cleaning instead, because your hands find what your eyes miss. I grumbled but started picking up the mess, and about 5 minutes in my hand brushed the keys under a stack of junk mail on his counter. Now I do the same thing when I misplace papers or my tape measure. What weird hand me down trick from your family has actually held up?
My grandma swore by praying to St. Anthony, but the cleaning thing makes more sense. Something about moving your hands shuts off the panic part of your brain.
