Question about how I started keeping a memory box versus just taking photos

For years, I just snapped pictures on my phone and forgot about them. Last fall, I started putting things in a shoebox: a ticket stub from a show, a note my kid wrote, a weird rock from a hike. Looking at the actual objects last week brought back way more feelings than scrolling through my camera roll ever did. The physical stuff seems to stick in my head better. Does anyone else find that, or am I just weird?

The shoebox method is solid. I started with a cigar box because it was smaller and forced me to pick only the stuff that really mattered. @paigep85 mentioned using a clear jar which is smart too, lets you see everything at once without digging through it.

Oh man, my buddy found his old concert wristband and totally got choked up!

You're not weird at all, I get the same thing. That ticket stub has a feel and a smell a photo just doesn't, right? What's the best thing you've put in your box so far?

Try putting your best stuff in a clear jar.
