Rant: I used to keep all my project sketches in a single notebook, but after my basement flooded last spring, I switched to scanning everything the same day I draw it.

Has anyone else had to rebuild a personal archive from scratch, and what's your system now (I'm using a flatbed scanner and a basic external hard drive)?

Lost a whole sketchbook once, left it on a bus. Felt like I lost a piece of my brain. Now I take a photo with my phone right after I finish a page, it uploads to the cloud automatically. The quality isn't perfect, but it's fast and I know it's safe.

Google Photos can scan documents to fix that quality issue.

Wait you just left a whole sketchbook on a bus? That's a nightmare, I'd be sick. I'm way too paranoid for that now, everything gets backed up instantly.
