Shoutout to that quiet morning by a lake in Maine

I drove up there on a whim last fall, just to clear my head for a couple days. Ended up at this little campsite I read about online, but it was almost empty when I got there. Woke up super early one day and decided to walk around the lake with my coffee. Found a old wooden bench tucked away in the trees, facing the water perfectly. Sat there for maybe an hour, just listening to the birds and watching the mist rise. It wasn't a big adventure, but that calm stuck with me all week after I got home. I'm writing this down so I remember to seek out those simple stops more often.

dylan_sanchez's canoe trip fits with your lake morning. What was it about that exact spot that made the calm stay with you all week? Did it change how you dealt with things back home?

Yeah, that's it exactly. It's like your brain gets to step out of a loud room for a minute. I had a spot like that under a big tree in a park near my old apartment. Just sitting there watching squirrels fight over acorns for twenty minutes could reset my whole mood. The quiet isn't empty, it's full of the small stuff you never usually hear. Makes the noise back home feel less sharp for a little while.

Man, that sounds perfect. I had a morning like that on a canoe trip last year, just sitting there with the water completely still. It's crazy how those quiet moments stick with you.

True quiet fixes something in your head... @skyler_jackson27 hit it asking why it stuck. That kind of deep calm is so rare now with all the background noise everywhere, even at home. It feels like your brain finally gets to stop buzzing for a minute. Makes you wonder if we're all just missing a bench by some water.
