Vent: I used to think keeping a journal was pointless until I found my grandpa's old notebook from his time in the Korean War.

Reading his shaky handwriting about missing home while stationed near Busan made me realize these small, daily notes are the only real proof we were ever here, so I bought a simple notebook from the drugstore and try to write one line every night, even if it's just 'tired' or 'saw a blue jay'... does anyone else keep a journal for someone they'll never meet?

@the_taylor I get that, but my notes helped me spot bad patterns later.

That's a really nice way to look at it. Honestly though, I've always felt like living for right now is proof enough for me, you know? The idea of writing for a stranger just feels like extra homework lol.

Find it comforting that my boring days might mean something to a future grandkid.
