Vent: Lost a whole summer journal when my phone died in Lake Michigan last August

I had been writing down little memories from June through August last year. Small stuff like the smell of the farmer's market on Saturday mornings and the way my nephew laughed at a goose. I backed nothing up. Phone took a swim off the pier in South Haven and now it's all gone. I keep trying to piece stuff back together in my head but it's fuzzy. Has anyone else lost a big chunk of years like that and just had to accept it?
