Can we talk about the 'good morning' text I send my mom every day?

I've been sending 'good morning, hope you have a great day!' for about two years, even though my dad passed away and I'm still really sad about it. I started adding one real, small feeling at the end, like 'feeling tired today' or 'missing the old coffee shop', and it made the fake cheer feel less heavy. Does anyone else have a tiny script they change to let a little truth out?

Actually, that small script change sounds like a really smart way to be honest without it being too much. I just say the real thing from the start, like "morning, it's a tough one today." Feels less like I'm hiding, you know?

Yeah, that's a great way to do it. I started adding one real thing to my "how was your day" talk with my wife, like "traffic was bad" or "my lunch was kinda sad." It just makes the whole chat feel less like a script and more like we're actually talking.

My script started with just the weather report.
