Hit 50 pushups in a row today after three months of trying

I was in my living room at 6 AM with the kids still asleep, and I decided to just go for it during a break from folding laundry. For weeks I'd been stuck at 45 pushups max, feeling like I was faking it when I'd tell my wife I was working out. Today I hit 50 clean, chest-to-floor pushups without stopping. My shoulders were shaking on the last three, but I got through it. I didn't tell anyone because it feels small compared to what other people do. But inside I was grinning like an idiot. Has anyone else had a moment where a tiny personal goal felt way bigger than it should have?

Wait did you actually think about stopping before those last three reps or did you just keep your head down and push through? I'm asking because that mental wall thing is so real, you know? I've had moments where my body could totally do more but my brain starts screaming at me to stop for no good reason. It's weird how the last few reps are always more of a head game than a physical thing, especially when you've been stuck at a plateau for weeks like you were. So were you counting the whole time or did you lose track and just keep going until your chest hit the floor? That moment when you hit a new number after being stuck feels like you unlocked some secret level in a video game, even if nobody else gets why you're so pumped about it.

No kidding, the same thing happens when I'm folding laundry or finishing a work task lol.

Last time I hit a new PR on bench press I celebrated like I'd won the lottery, then realized I had to explain to my wife why I was fist pumping in the garage alone.
