Just realized I spent 8 months faking enthusiasm at my book club before admitting I hated the genre

I kept saying I loved the dense literary fiction picks but secretly I was struggling through 50 pages a week, finally broke down and told them I prefer pulp sci-fi and now we rotate genres. Anyone else waste that much time pretending to like something?

Wasted six months pretending I liked kale chips before admitting they taste like cardboard.

Did anyone else get suckered into that kale chip trend too @karen361? I lasted three days tops.

Guessing the fancy kale folks were the same ones pushing literary fiction, @karen361.
