My friend kept pushing me to try that new meditation app

I thought it was just another trend, but after using it for two weeks I'm actually sleeping through the night. Has anyone else found something they doubted that actually helped?

Funny you should post this. Just read an article about how a lot of wellness stuff gets dismissed as fads until it clicks for someone. My neighbor swore by using a weighted blanket for years and I totally brushed it off. Finally tried one during a bad stress patch and it was a total game changer for my anxiety. Sometimes the hype is real for the right person at the right time. Glad that app is working for you.

Yeah it's wild how stuff that seems silly can actually help.

Totally get that. I used to roll my eyes at all the meditation talk. Sounded like nonsense. Then I had a really rough month at work and a friend made me try a simple breathing app. Felt stupid at first. But after a week, I noticed I wasn't clenching my jaw all day. It just works for me now.

Is it weird how something so simple can feel like admitting you were wrong when it actually helps? I had the same thing with a white noise machine... totally wrote it off as something for babies or people who are too picky about noise. Then my neighbor's dog wouldn't stop barking at night and I was desperate. Now I can't fall asleep without it on, just that low hum. It's funny what we'll try when we're tired enough to stop being stubborn.
