My little sister called me out and I still feel it a week later

She's 14 and during dinner last Tuesday she just said 'you smile different around grandma than when you're on your phone.' I froze because she was right. I've been doing this thing where I laugh in front of family but then scroll through bad news alone after. My split second reaction was to tell her she's wrong but I knew she wasn't. It hit different because she sees me more than I see myself sometimes. Has anyone else had a younger person just casually break down your whole act in one sentence?

Ha, yeah, kids are basically tiny truth bombs I swear.

My three year old told my mom her cooking "needs more salt" the other day. She wasn't wrong but the look on my mom's face was priceless. Kids really do not have a filter at all.

Huh, you know I used to think the whole "kids say the darndest things" was just a cute cliché. But after my nephew told my sister her new haircut made her look like a surprised potato, I'm a full believer now. Kids are just brutally honest little creatures.
