Picked my mom's couch over my girlfriend's for the living room. 7 months later and my back is wrecked.

Used to think a nice couch was just a couch, but wow this really changed my mind on that.

Right? Once you sit on something with actual support and good fabric, it's hard to go back. Cheap couches sag in three years and the cushions never stay put. A well-made one just holds up to daily life, kids, pets, everything. Kind of makes you wonder why anyone bothers with the flimsy stuff anymore.

Three years? You’re lucky if my cheap couches made it through the first eighteen months without the cushions turning into pancakes. I keep buying them because for what I pay, I can swap them out every couple of years and still come out ahead on cost. A well-built couch that lasts ten years would have to survive four moves and two dogs in my house, and I just don’t see that happening. Flimsy stuff works fine if you treat it like a disposable item instead of an investment.
