Spent $200 on a weighted blanket from Target and I hate how much it helps
I keep telling everyone at work I am fine, then I get home to my apartment in Columbus and spend two hours staring at the wall with a fake smile still on my face. My sister dropped $200 on a 20 lb weighted blanket for my birthday back in March, and I slept through the night for the first time in months, which honestly made me madder because it proved how bad things had gotten. Does anyone else have a thing that works but you kind of resent it for working?
My buddy got one of those from his wife a couple years back and he was pissed about it too, same exact reason. He said it felt like the blanket was calling him out, like hey dummy you've been running on fumes for a year and this is all it took. He shoved it in the closet for a month out of spite before he caved and started using it every night. Now he jokes that it's the most expensive thing he owns that he actually touches daily. I get the anger though, because when something simple fixes you it means the problem was real the whole time and you were just white knuckling it. That fake smile at home thing is rough, hope your sister knows she did good even if it stings.
