The one review that made me stop using spray foam on everything

About 8 months ago a customer in Columbus sent me a 2 star review because the foam I used around their window kept expanding and cracked the trim. I always thought more foam meant better sealing, but that single comment made me actually read the can instructions instead of winging it. Now I use minimal foam and backer rod first on every job, and I've had zero callbacks since. Has anyone else had a piece of criticism that flipped a routine you were convinced was fine?
