Turned 40 last week and hit 20 years in the same trade, feels weird to be the old guy now

I swear I was the apprentice just yesterday, now I'm the one younger guys come to for advice, and honestly I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing, anyone else hit an age or work milestone that made them question where the time went?

Time flies. The young ones keep you on your toes though.

@mary_west The part about time flying is true but the young ones don't always keep you on your toes. Sometimes they just run you ragged and wear you out in a different way. Getting older means you have less energy to keep up with their pace. It's more like you're trying to catch your breath while they're already three steps ahead. I remember being that fast once, but now my joints remind me I'm not 25 anymore. You're not wrong that they keep things interesting, but it's not always the good kind of interesting.

You're absolutely right about that. There are days when I can barely keep up with my niece, and she's only seven. It reminds me that time really does fly, and I wish I had savored those moments more when I was younger and had the energy to match her. It's a bittersweet thing, watching them grow.
