Update: My client's kid spilled juice on a fresh install

I was finishing a new floor in a kitchen in Tacoma, just put the last piece down. Their toddler ran in with a full cup of grape juice and tripped. It went everywhere. I smiled and said 'no worries' while my stomach dropped. I had to pull up three planks and replace the underlayment before I could leave. Anyone else have a 'smile through the disaster' moment with a client's family?

My cousin's dog chewed through a brand new baseboard I'd just painted. That forced smile is the worst part of the job sometimes.

Ever had a client's kid ask to help paint?

That forced smile is a real skill, @the_taylor, I once had to pretend a cat scratch in new wallpaper was "added texture.

The worst is when you have to explain that "added texture" to the actual homeowner later.
