After 11 years of owning, I finally sold my house for a condo rental
I spent a decade fixing gutters, replacing a $3,200 furnace, and mowing every Saturday. What flipped me was watching my neighbor spend two weeks stressing over a foundation crack quote while I was booking a flight to Portland. Last month I listed it, took the profit, and now I pay rent and call maintenance when the dishwasher acts up. The freedom feels weird but good, anyone else trade ownership for renting and never look back?

That furnace replacement hits home. I dropped 4 grand on a new AC unit in year eight and another 2 grand on a roof patch two years later. Then my water heater went out on a Sunday and the plumber told me it would be Tuesday before he could even look at it. That was it for me. Now when something breaks I put in a ticket and go about my day. Last month the fridge died and they had a new one in by dinner.
