Got kicked out of my own office space after the landlord sold the building
I had 30 days to pack up 8 years of landscaping records and tools from that rundown spot on 5th street. Now I'm running payroll from my kitchen table and my dog keeps stepping on the printer. Anyone else have to reorganize their whole life after losing their workspace suddenly?

Used to roll my eyes at people complaining about workspace setups, but after two weeks of running spreadsheets next to a laundry pile I get it now. That 30 day notice stuff is brutal when you've got years of random crap to sort through.

The 30 day notice thing really sneaks up on you, doesn't it? I've seen friends go through that scramble and it always looks like a nightmare. @the_taylor, did you have to rent a dumpster or just make a lot of trash bags full of random stuff from the last few years? I'm always curious how people decide what actually gets packed versus what gets thrown out, because I bet half that laundry pile has stuff you forgot you even owned. It's crazy how fast a place fills up with junk you don't really need but can't bring yourself to toss until a deadline forces you to.

The "forgot you even owned" part is the real killer lol. I had a box of old cables from phones I haven't owned since 2015, and I spent a good 20 minutes just staring at them like "why did I keep these?" But then you find something like a gift card with $12 left on it and suddenly you're digging through everything like a treasure hunt. That's the trap right there, you get distracted by the weird stuff you uncover and the actual packing stops dead. By the end of week two I was just chucking anything that looked even slightly dusty into trash bags without thinking. No regrets either.
