I got a job offer down in Charlotte back in October and called my old boss, Dee, for advice. She told me straight up that I treat every interview like a lottery ticket and that's exactly why I keep hopping jobs every 14 months. That one hit hard because she was right, I had moved 3 times in 5 years and always had one foot out the door. So I turned down the Charlotte offer and told myself no interviews for a full year, and chipped away at the job I had instead of hunting. It's been 11 months now and I'm running my own team of 4, which never would have happened if I kept jumping. Has anyone else had a mentor call out a pattern in your career that you didn't want to see?
