Quit my $52k job in Phoenix to move into my uncle's garage and flip bikes, 6 months later I have 3 fans
So after 9 years at the same desk job in Phoenix I walked in on a Tuesday and quit with zero plan. My two options were keep grinding for a pension I would not see for 30 years, or move into my uncle's garage and fix up old bikes to sell online. I picked the garage, and my first flip was a $40 Huffy I sold for $95, which felt amazing until I did the math on my hourly rate. Six months in, I am averaging one sale a week and my uncle keeps wandering out to tell me the brakes are backwards. My mom still asks every Sunday when I am going back to a real job, so if anyone has flipped their way out of a full time gig, how long before it stopped feeling like a very long weekend?
