The 30 day gym trial that almost got me twice

Got burned by the same trap two times now. First gym charged me 15 bucks a month but the cancel form had to be mailed in, no email. Took 6 weeks and two certified letters to get out. Second place had a 12 month lock-in hidden in the fine print, page 3. I read everything before I sign now. The front desk will say anything to get you started. Ask for the full contract in writing before you put down a dollar. Has anyone else had a gym chain pull the same nonsense on them?

Damn, that cancel-by-mail thing is straight up criminal, sorry you had to deal with that.
