Why does nobody talk about forgetting to check the weather before forging?

I used to forge outside no matter what. After my project got drenched and warped into a abstract shape, I now always check the forecast.

Honestly that warping story hits home. Forgetting the forecast once meant my coal fire turned to steam soup in a downpour, total waste of a good heat. Beyond rain, sudden cold snaps can crack your metal if you quench at the wrong temp. Tbh it's not just the big storms, high humidity alone can mess with your fire control. Really gotta treat the weather report like another essential tool on the bench.

Feel for you with the steam soup thing. Humidity ruins my fire control every time. It's a lesson you only need to learn once.

Checking the weather just sounds like overthinking it to me.
