Hot take: That viral video of the guy fixing a pothole with ramen isn't a hack, it's dangerous

Saw that clip where someone filled a driveway crack with instant ramen and superglue, made it look perfect for like 5 minutes. But water gets in, freezes, and now you've got a bigger hole and a lawsuit waiting. Has anyone actually tried this and watched it fail after one rain?

Did you use the cheap instant stuff or the thicker Japanese noodles? My neighbor tried this on a garage floor crack with the cheap noodles and it totally crumbled after one hose spray, but I used those thick udon blocks with clear epoxy and it's held up for like 8 months now through rain and snow. We put a thick coat of epoxy on top and let it cure for a full day before driving over it, and the real trick is roughing up the edges of the crack first so the epoxy grips the concrete. Yours might last if you go heavy on the glue and let it harden for at least 24 hours.

Wait, did you read that article about the guy who used ramen to fix a hole in his drywall and it actually held for like two years? I heard someone on a podcast say if you mix the noodles with super glue instead of epoxy it forms a harder bond, but they also said you gotta sand it down smooth before painting. Your udon idea sounds way more durable though, especially with the epoxy top coat. I might try that for a crack in my patio since the cheap instant packs are too crumbly for outside work.

Jade, you're overthinking this - just use a proper concrete patch from the hardware store.
