The barista at Starbucks asked if I was okay

I was rushing through a drive thru and the barista said 'you look like you need a minute, not just coffee.' That five second pause made me realize I’d been ignoring how burned out I was for months. Has anyone else had a stranger call them out like that?

Damn, that's heavy but I'm glad you caught yourself before it got worse. A buddy of mine was at a gas station last year and the clerk straight up said "you look like you just lost a dog" while handing him change. He hadn't even realized he'd been walking around with that dead-eyed stare for weeks after his breakup. @reed.elliot I bet that pizza guy could tell you were running on fumes too, some people just have that weird radar for when someone's falling apart. It's wild how a total stranger saying one thing can make you actually stop and feel it.
