The viral debt snowball method sounded like a scam until I tried it on $12,000 of credit card balances
I always thought paying off the smallest debt first was just feel-good math. But after 4 months of knocking out a $400 store card, I hit my next bigger balance harder than any strategy before. Did the psychology trick work for you too or did you stick with the highest interest route?

Did the high interest route just make you feel like you weren't getting anywhere? I know for me, seeing that first card zero out gave me such a mental boost. It really did feel like I could actually do this whole debt thing. I think the psychology trick matters more than people give it credit for, especially when you're feeling buried.

My buddy Mike was the same way with his debt. He tried the avalanche method for 8 months and all he saw was that one giant credit card balance barely budging. It wrecked his motivation completely. Then he switched to snowball, knocked out a $400 store card in three weeks, and suddenly he was addicted to paying things off. That's just how we're wired, you know? We'll stick with something hard if we see little wins along the way, but if it feels like we're running uphill forever, most people just quit.
