Threw $200 down the drain on a meal prep delivery service for 3 weeks.

I signed up for one of those meal kit boxes back in February. First week was fine, decent portions and easy recipes. By week two I was throwing away half the veggies because I didn't cook them fast enough. Week three I had three boxes sitting in my fridge with slimy spinach and bad chicken. Cost me about $200 total and I ate maybe 6 meals out of it. The packaging waste alone made me feel guilty every time I tossed another ice pack. I should have just stuck with my usual grocery run and simple meals. Has anyone else tried these things and actually made them work?

That "slimy spinach" part got me... I remember ordering a big box of greens thinking I'd be healthy for a week and watching them turn into a science experiment in my crisper drawer. I finally learned to prep everything the same day it comes in, even if it means chopping onions at midnight. Now I just buy frozen veggies and canned stuff, saves me money and the guilt of throwing food away.

Ha, @mary_west you just described my fridge every time I buy fresh greens. I think mine are still in there plotting world domination.

My friend actually signed up for one of those and the broccoli turned into a science experiment before she even opened the bag. She finally just donated the rest of the boxes to a neighbor and swore off meal kits forever.
